When children grieve, we feel the need to protect them, however, they need to experience the feelings and grow from them - we should affirm the fact that they are feeling bad & not feel the need to fix them. Equally, we should speak about our feelings as they mirror our actions, if we Lock ourselves away to 'grieve' they will do the same.

In this weeks podcast, the UK’s No1 Bereavement Coach Debbie Singh talks about Anxiety Disorders and how they can have a crippling effect on a persons life. I myself have suffered with Pure OCD for many years, pure OCD is the pure thought strand of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). The pure thoughts often come in catastrophizing, fearing you have done something terrible or that you may cause harm to others accidentally. These thoughts are often born out of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which is brought on by an incident that has caused you great fear or harm and trauma.

There are some great service’s out there that can help with PTSD and OCD like symptoms, I myself had Cognitive Analytical Therapy which is similar to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. If you or a loved you know suffers from severe anxiety then please contact your local Wellbeing service as research into both talking therapies, behavioural therapies and medicines are available and really do help.

Join Debbie as she describes what its like to live with an Anxiety Disorder
